Jura Network will combine DAG from IOTA with block lattice from Nano, integrated with algorithms to confront common attacks
Since the dawn of blockchain, many innovative ideas have been put forward in order to improve the first nominated blockchain - bitcoin. Ethereum along with the introduction of smart contract in 2015 ushered in a new era of blockchain 2.0. However, both of them are still lost in the blockchain trilemma: Decentralization, Security & Scalability. There are many projects that have tackled these problems by proposing new consensus algorithms like Stellar, EOS, Filecoin, Genaro; or new data structures like IOTA, Nano. Jura is one of ICOs that also wants to disrupt this old trilemma with new solutions.
Jura Network technology
In order to define whether Jura Network can succeed and compete with these big boys above, let’s take a look at Jura technology and its feasibility.
The core of Jura network is the FUSUS data structure which is a modification of DAG structure from IOTA. (To understand what is IOTA, you should watch this video)
Below you can read a simple comparison for better understanding:

With this structure, Jura can achieve scalability and transaction speed at the same time. The more traffic Jura gets the faster its network becomes.
As you may know, original DAG faces many problems even if it’s faster than blockchain, for example weak security under low traffic and higher chance for double spending attacks. However, FUSUS can avoid such a risk by adjusting automatically between blockchain and tangle in accordance with network traffic. Moreover, Jura uses Proof of Verifiable Random Time (PoVRT) to prevent spamming attacks during high traffic time.

Other technologies that we need to understand:
- Proof of Utility (PoU) Consensus Mechanism: a type of PoS which measures accounts’ credibility score to assign vote power based on stake size, age of account, stake time, last staking.
- Dynamic Monitored and Distributed Sharding (DMDS): sharding is a way to improve network efficiency by dividing database into many layers for faster process. Ethereum is also trying to integrate sharding into Casper protocol in its transition from PoW to PoS. In Jura network, DMDS contains three layers, namely routing layer, authorisation layer and monitor layer. Based on credit point, routing layer will allocate tasks to the network. These other two layers will validate and supervise all activities.
- Using AI to optimize operation and allocation (more on that later)
In short, Jura try to fix blockchain drawbacks by putting several methods together:
- FUSUS for scaling up and speed
- PoVRT and PoU for security and resource saving
- Sharding for scaling and resource saving

We will evaluate investment opportunites of this ICO in the next article. Stay tunes!
